One week after being crushed 6-1, Valentine took down the league eaders

One week after being humiliated 6-1, Valentine FC produced one of the shocks of the NPL NNSW season.
The young side stunned league leaders Weston Bears 2-0 on Saturday night in a result that completely reshaped the title race.
Weston’s slip opened the door for Broadmeadow Magic, and they charged straight through it.
In a chaotic 5-3 victory away to Charlestown Azzurri, Golden Boot contender Luis Lara Delgado inspired Broadmeadow’s rise to the summit with a devastating hat-trick, including two late goals to finally break the contest open.
The in-form striker now has 15 goals for the season.
“He's been an exceptional player for Magic,” head coach Jim Cresnar said. “He's now becoming a lot more consistent.”
Elsewhere, Golden Boot leader Marco Gueli simply refuses to slow down.
The German forward scored his 18th goal of the campaign, and astonishing 11th in five games, as third-placed Belmont Swansea United surrendered a two-goal lead in a dramatic 2-2 draw with Adamstown Rosebud.
Lambton Jaffas continued their surge up the standings with victory over Newcastle Olympic, while Edgeworth Eagles responded to last week’s heartbreak by defeating Maitland FC 3-1.
Cooks Hill United also secured a commanding win over Kahibah FC.
