NPL SA's title race took another twist in Round 15 as league leaders WT Birkalla suffered a second defeat to FK Beograd in less than a week, while Croydon FC produced one of the comebacks of the season in a remarkable 5-5 draw with West Adelaide.
Just days after eliminating Birkalla from the Federation Cup and securing a historic first Australia Cup Round of 32 berth, FK Beograd struck another blow to the competition leaders.
Jason Konstandopoulos and Abu-Bakari Hussein were on target in a 2-0 victory that completed a memorable double over the table-toppers and further strengthened Beograd's credentials as genuine contenders.

The result opened the door for MetroStars to climb to the summit, but they were unable to capitalise.
Instead, Adelaide City continued their impressive rise with a 3-0 victory over MetroStars, fuelled by a Yuki Kitano hat-trick.
The in-form attacker scored all three goals in 48 minutes as City moved to within three points of top spot.
The weekend's most extraordinary contest came at Regency Park.
Croydon FC looked destined for defeat after conceding three goals inside 14 minutes and trailing 4-1 at half-time against West Adelaide.
Yet they somehow fought back to level the scores at 4-4 before West Adelaide edged back in front in the 86th minute.
Even then the drama wasn't finished. Freddie Muller's 95th-minute equaliser completed an astonishing comeback and secured a point in a match that finished 5-5.
