One of the greatest players in South Hobart's history is preparing to leave Tasmania.
Nick Morton will depart the NPL Tasmania leaders at the end of June to join Northcote City in Victoria's VPL1 competition, bringing an end to a remarkable 19-year association with the club.
The South Hobart captain, a three-time Tasmanian Player of the Year and the club's all-time leading goalscorer, signed off from his final away appearance in familiar fashion on the weekend.
NPL VIC: You don't see 11-0 in NPL Victoria
NPL NSW: A wondergoal. A stoppage-time winner. A 16-year-old's first NPL NSW goal
NPL WA: They qualified for the Australia Cup. Then came 8 goals and late drama but a familiar face is back on top

Morton found the back of the net as South Hobart drew 1-1 with second-placed Kingborough Lions United in a clash between the competition's top two sides.
The striker's competition-best 14th goal of the season ensured the unbeaten league leaders maintained their advantage at the summit, while Kingborough continued their strong run of form following last month's Lakoseljac Cup triumph and Australia Cup qualification.
Morton's final match for South Hobart is scheduled for June 27, when the club farewell one of the defining figures of their modern era.
In a statement, the club said: “For a generation of South Hobart supporters, Nick has been one of the faces of the club. A fierce competitor, a leader, a match winner and a player who has helped shape some of the most successful years in our history.
“From championship triumphs and cup victories to unforgettable goals and unforgettable moments, Nick's fingerprints are all over the modern history of South Hobart Football Club.
“Nick has accepted an opportunity with Northcote City in Melbourne, where he will reunite with former South Hobart coach and stepbrother Max Clarke.
“While we are saddened to see him leave, we are immensely proud of everything he has achieved and grateful for everything he has given to our club.
“Some players wear the shirt. Others become part of its history.”
Elsewhere, third-placed Devonport City Strikers were held to a 2-2 draw by Clarence Zebras despite a brace from Joshua Tollervey.
The result prevented Devonport from making up ground on the league leaders, though they remain firmly entrenched in the top-three battle.
Launceston United edged Ulverstone 3-2 in an entertaining contest, while South East United claimed a valuable 1-0 victory over Glenorchy Knights.
With South Hobart still unbeaten, Kingborough continuing to push and Devonport refusing to go away, the race at the top remains alive.
