George Cross goalkeeper Christian Siciliano brilliantly denied Preston recruit Luca Tevere from the penalty spot, only for the same player - substitute Jordan Tucker - to concede another penalty moments later while attempting to prevent the rebound.
In the chaos that followed, George Cross' goalkeeping coach was sent off before Tevere calmly converted the second spot-kick to break the deadlock. Preston sealed the points late to continue their impressive campaign.
After the game, George Cross head coach Eric Vassiliadis told club media: “He’s got some real intestinal fortitude that guy (the referee).
“… And if he wants to play by the laws of the game, they had two players inside the box before the penalty was taken.”
