The NPL gave him a platform. Now Daniel Solsky is heading to the A-League
Daniel Solsky has become the latest NPL player to earn an opportunity in the professional game after securing a move from NPL NSW’s Wollongong Wolves to Perth Glory in the A-League.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper has departed Wollongong to join the Glory in Western Australia on a one-year deal, ending a two-season spell on the South Coast.
Solsky arrived at Wollongong in 2025 and established himself as an important member of Luke Wilkshire's senior squad, using the Wolves as a platform to begin his career in Australian football.

His performances and development have now been rewarded with an opportunity at the next level.
For Wollongong, the move represents another example of the pathway the club are attempting to provide players into professional football.
Former Socceroo Wilkshire said seeing players develop and earn opportunities at a higher level remained one of the most rewarding aspects of coaching.
“Daniel has been fantastic during his time at the Wolves,” Wilkshire said. “It has been a pleasure to work with him and see his growth as both a player and a person during his time here.
“As a coach, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is seeing players develop and earn opportunities at the next level.”
Wilkshire added: “We are proud to see another Wolves player progress into the A-League and everyone at the club congratulates Daniel on this well-deserved opportunity with Perth Glory.”
For Solsky, the move carries added significance after Wollongong provided him with his first opportunity to establish himself in Australian football.
Having gained some overseas experience previously with Spanish side Marbella FC, Solsky made 44 appearances for Wollongong and kept 12 clean sheets.
“I cannot thank the Wolves enough for the opportunity they provided me in giving me a platform to start my career in Australia,” Solsky said.
“Working under the coaching staff and being able to learn from such experienced quality coaches has helped me develop and enabled me to take the next step in my career.”

As for Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis, he said: “Daniel is a very talented young ‘keeper who we have had our eye on for some time and is highly rated by our coaching staff.
“He’s got a good physical presence about him, makes some really big saves and has the type of strong work ethic that will make him an excellent fit for our squad.
“Daniel comes highly recommended by [Wollongong Wolves Head Coach] Luke Wilkshire and we look forward to seeing him continue to fulfil his huge potential in a full-time professional environment here at Glory.”
