The 'new era' lasted less than a season as O'Connor Knights part ways with coach
O'Connor Knights have parted ways with head coach and technical director Hani Sohani, less than a season after appointing him to lead what the club described as a "new era."
The NPL Capital Football outfit confirmed over the weekend that Sohani and Under-23 coach Gaby Wilk had both departed the club.
"O'Connor Knights SC advises that the tenure of Head Coach Hani Sohani and Under 23 Coach Gaby Wilk has come to an end," the club said in a statement.
"The club sincerely thanks Hani and Gaby for their service, commitment and contribution to O'Connor Knights during their time with the club.
"We wish both Hani and Gaby all the very best in their future football endeavours."
Sohani arrived ahead of the 2026 season following what the Knights described as a "lengthy and competitive selection process."
At the time, the Knights hailed the appointment as the beginning of a "new era of growth and success, on and off the pitch."
Holding a German UEFA B Licence, Sohani brought coaching experience from Europe and the Middle East, as well as studies through the University of Barcelona's Barca Innovation Hub, where he specialised in video analysis and modern European coaching methodologies.
He was also appointed Technical Director with a remit extending beyond the senior men's side, tasked with strengthening player development and pathways throughout the club.
His tenure, however, has now come to an early conclusion.
The Knights have confirmed a further update regarding coaching arrangements will be announced in due course as they prepare for the remainder of the NPL Capital Football season.
