Devonport just put three past the premiers. Now they’re one win from glory

Devonport City Strikers booked their place in the NPL Tasmania Grand Final after producing a statement 3-0 win over back-to-back premiers South Hobart.

Jordan Payne, Brody Denehey and Joshua Tollervey were all on target as Devonport shut out South Hobart and moved one victory away from the Championship.

South Hobart’s season, however, isn’t finished.

They will get another opportunity to reach the decider against Kingborough Lions United, who powered through their elimination final with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Launceston City.

Eli Luttmer led the charge with a double, while Joel Badger, Noah Mies and Tristen Galt also found the net as Kingborough continued their push for more silverware.

It sets up a huge showdown for the remaining place in the Grand Final.

Devonport are already there. Now South Hobart and Kingborough must fight for the right to join them.
