Alex Fiechtner's extraordinary season continued with the Lions FC striker scoring his 29th goal in just 16 games to help defeat Olympic FC 2-0.

Fiechtner's latest goal strengthened his grip on the Golden Boot and continued a season that has established him among the most prolific strikers in Australian state league football.

Lions remain firmly in the title race, but Peninsula Power continue to set the pace after club great Joshua Woolley scored twice in a 3-1 away win over Eastern Suburbs.

Niyah Joseph was also on target for the league leaders, who are three points clear at the summit though the Lions have a game in hand.

Austin Ludwik enjoyed a dream return to Gold Coast Knights, scoring in a 2-1 victory over Moreton City Excelsior after re-joining the club following two seasons in the A-League. Archie McGregor also found the net.

Magic United claimed an impressive 3-1 away win over Gold Coast United, while Wynnum Wolves rescued a point against Rochedale Rovers through Lucas Martins' 90th-minute equaliser.

Elsewhere, Marcus Barnes and Niall Thom traded goals as Brisbane City and Brisbane Roar B drew 1-1.
