A new direction beckons at Manningham United after one season

Manningham United will have a new head coach in 2027 after mutually agreeing to part ways with Nick Marinos.

Marinos was appointed ahead of the 2026 season, bringing an extensive playing and coaching background to the role, but his tenure has come to an end after just one campaign which saw the VPL1 outfit finish eighth in the Victorian second tier this term.

Manningham confirmed the decision following discussions between both parties, saying they believed going their separate ways was “in the best interests of all parties moving forward”.

“We would like to sincerely thank Nick for his commitment, contribution and efforts during his time at Manningham United and wish him every success for the future,” the club said.

Marinos arrived at Manningham with considerable experience across Australian football. His playing career included time in the NSL with Melbourne Knights and with South Melbourne in the National Youth League, while he also represented Green Gully, Oakleigh Cannons, Heidelberg United, Richmond and Hume City across Victoria.

His career also took him overseas to Panachaiki in Greece, while he represented Greece at Olympic level.

Manningham will immediately begin its search for Marinos’ replacement, with the club saying further announcements will follow in due course.
