The old king struck again and the NPL NSW title race tightened further
By Sacha Pisani8 June 2026

Marko Jesic has been doing this for a decade. Big moments. Big goals. Big games.
The 36-year-old Marconi Stallions captain added another chapter to his remarkable club legacy on Sunday, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Wollongong Wolves that sent the Stallions back to the top of NPL NSW.
Just seven minutes were on the clock when Jesic - Marconi’s all-time leading scorer - struck his seventh goal of the campaign and it proved enough.
The result lifted Marconi above rivals APIA Leichhardt on goal difference and ensured the title race remains one of the most compelling in the country through 18 rounds.
APIA did their part.
