And fittingly, Croydon marked the occasion with a 2-0 victory over Sturt Lions as the club great celebrated another chapter in a remarkable legacy. The win lifted Croydon into seventh spot on the table.

At the top, WT Birkalla surged into first place after late drama against West Adelaide.

Former A-League striker George Blackwood was the hero, scoring twice, including a dramatic 93rd-minute winner, as Birkalla claimed a thrilling 2-1 victory to move two points clear at the summit.

Playford City missed the chance to stay top after being held to a tense 0-0 draw by Adelaide City.

Less than 24 hours after featuring in Friday night’s A-League Men Semi-Final, Harry Crawford found the back of the net for Adelaide United in their 2-0 win away to bottom side Para Hills Knights, who remain without a victory this season.

Elsewhere, FK Beograd continued their strong campaign with a 3-1 win over Campbelltown City, while Adelaide Comets and MetroStars played out a scoreless draw.
