George Blackwood's football journey has taken him from the A-League to Indonesia, Malta and back again. Now, he's driving WT Birkalla's unlikely title charge.
The former Sydney FC premiership winner continued his outstanding season on the weekend, converting the decisive penalty in a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Croydon FC that kept Birkalla at the summit of NPL South Australia.

Blackwood now has a joint league-high 11 goals for the campaign and continues to prove one of the competition's most influential signings.
The pressure isn't easing, though.
MetroStars remain just one point behind after edging FC Beograd 2-1. Binyam Kebede and Hamish Gow found the net as the perennial contenders kept pace with the leaders.
