Footscray Rangers player Anthony Lo Guarro received a 13-match suspension and ordered to complete a mandatory education course following an incident in Victoria’s State League 7 North-West.
The sanction relates to Footscray’s 7-2 defeat to Greenvale United in June, with Lo Guarro charged with serious violent conduct and/or instigating or participating in a violent melee.
The matter subsequently went before a Football Victoria tribunal on appeal.
Lo Guarro admitted to headbutting an opponent but denied his involvement in the melee component of the charge.
The tribunal ultimately found him guilty on both counts and dismissed the appeal, meaning the original 13-match penalty will stand.
Lo Guarro will also be required to complete a mandatory education course as part of the sanction.
