Canberra Croatia have been crowned champions of the capital once more, sealing back-to-back NPL Capital Football titles with an emphatic 4-0 win over Belconnen United.

After reclaiming top spot from Monaro Panthers in the penultimate round, Croatia knew victory would finish the job and Shandon Whitehead ensured there would be no final-day stumble.

The striker produced a breath-taking 13-minute hat-trick to headline the championship-clinching rout, completing another prolific campaign with a performance worthy of the occasion.

Whitehead has 21 goals to his name from 23 appearances this season, and seven of those have come in his last three games.

Canberra Croatia finished three points clear of Monaro, who did everything they could with a 5-0 demolition of Canberra White Eagles.

Lukman Ahmed-Shaibu struck twice, while Stephen Domenici, Keegan Vucetic and Shota Sagara also scored.

Tuggeranong United ended their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Canberra Juventus, while Queanbeyan City edged O’Connor Knights 1-0.

Already-relegated Canberra Olympic signed off with some fireworks, winning an extraordinary 5-4 thriller courtesy of Oliver Wiederkehr’s 91st-minute winner.
