A former Stuttgart striker headlines Blacktown City's transfer overhaul

Blacktown City have made one of the biggest statements of the NPL NSW transfer window, unveiling four new signings as they look to avoid relegation.

Former A-League striker Alou Kuol headlines the arrivals, joined by ex-Central Coast Mariners defender Sasha Kuzevski, returning academy product Lachlan Henderson and teenage midfielder Kye Cassar.

For a club accustomed to competing at the top end of the competition, the recruitment drive comes at a pivotal point in the campaign.

Blacktown are second from bottom in NPL NSW, one point adrift of safety after 21 games.

Kuol brings the highest profile.

The 24-year-old burst onto the professional scene with Central Coast Mariners before earning a move to German side Stuttgart. After gaining valuable experience in Europe, he returned to Australia, won an A-League Championship with the Mariners and most recently represented Western Sydney Wanderers.

"Very happy and excited to be here at Blacktown City," Kuol said. "I'm excited for the new challenge and want to help the team win as many games as possible for the rest of the season."

Blacktown have also strengthened defensively with the arrival of Kuzevski, another product of Central Coast's pathway who won back-to-back A-League Championships before making the move to Seven Hills.

"I'm very excited to be joining this great club," Kuzevski said. "I've had positive conversations with Mark and the board and I'm excited by their ambition and drive for success."

The future has also been addressed.

Former Western Sydney Wanderers academy midfielder Henderson returns to the club where he spent his formative years, while former Macarthur Bulls academy prospect Cassar arrives after three seasons in the professional pathway.
