By Sacha Pisani27 June 2026

HIGHPRESS revealed the move was coming and now it is official: NPL VIC challengers Avondale FC have signed former A-League defender Adama Traore.
Avondale have added another proven performer to a squad already considered one of the strongest in the competition - they already boast former Socceroo and A-League great Bruno Fornaroli, who leads the Golden Boot.
The move represents a significant coup for the Avondale, who continue to strengthen as the race for silverware enters its decisive stages in Victoria’s top flight.

Traore arrives with extensive experience at the highest level of Australian football.
The former Melbourne Victory full-back and Ivory coast international spent years establishing himself as one of the A-League's most reliable defenders, building a reputation for his athleticism, attacking intent and consistency.
His arrival adds another layer of quality to an Avondale squad that has already shown why they are considered among the favourites for this year's NPL Victoria title.
